If you’re driving along in your car and the oil light comes on, does it makes sense to simply cover the warning signal with tape?

Of course not! It takes the red signal away, but it does nothing to solve the problem with the oil. If the problem isn’t fixed at its source, the consequences can be dire—and probably very expensive!

If you take painkillers to take away the pain in your body, you are doing the equivalent of covering over the oil warning light. Pain is your body’s signal to you that something is wrong.

The problem needs to be corrected at its source—or else the consequences can be dire.
